The Rapture is one of the most influential band together with "The Strokes" early this decade, his work was to bridge the generation gap between the Post-Punk, Punk & Old School and as opening new avenues for subsequent bands of 2000’s and almost all the scene of what is known as New Rave, Disco-Punk... Therein lies the importance of The Rapture did it first many.

Sumo fue un conjunto argentino, formado por Luca Prodan, un italiano refugiado en Inglaterra, que después terminó en Argentina.

Por su adicción a la heroína y por tratar de escapar de su llamado a la guerra, tras años de refugio y totalmente alejado de la civilización, Luca aprendió a dominar el idioma español, y mientras tanto en sus ratos libres comenzó a tocar, hasta que finalmente formo esta Sumo.

Prodan nunca pudo librarse de su adicción a la heroína, llevándolo a la muerte a tan sólo un año después que se editara “After Chabom”, producción que dejo una fuerte inspiración y sirvió como influencia para prácticamente todo el “rock argentino” , convirtiéndolos en una banda importante y de suma referencia para generaciones, posteriores.

Comenzaron siendo una banda de culto y poco a poco generaron interés dentro del mainstream, y éste su ultimo álbum fue editado en una transnacional (Sony), siendo considerado como su mejor y más importante obra, contando con tres álbumes editados.

Es su fusion de ritmos, la peculiar voz de Luca, y que fueran la unica banda haceindo este tipo de musica en ese preciso momento lo que los llevo a ser lo que siempre fueron una gran gran banda de culto.
